Coinbase is launching a new curriculum called CIkka-Coinbase India Sikka to help new recruits learn the products and services they provide through Coinbase. The exchange will provide each new employee in India with a one-time $1,000 in cryptocurrency as part of this program.

Faced with the threat of a crypto prohibition in India, Coinbase revealed intentions to create a hub in Hyderabad in March.

Even if the Indian government enacted an outright ban – a possibility that appears to have faded in recent months – Coinbase’s intentions in the country are unlikely to be harmed if its operations are focused on engineering and software development.

Infrastructure, crypto, blockchains, data engineering, platform payments, cloud, machine learning, growth, and product engineering are just a few of the areas where Coinbase has teams. These teams would be led by local engineering directors in India to make local decisions.
