Prices of popular cryptocurrencies have weakened over the past 24 hours due to minor profit booking by investors.
Bitcoin, the world’s largest cryptocurrency, was trading at $62,321.32 or 0.35 per cent lower than its value 24 hours ago at 12:20 pm. The market capitalisation of Bitcoin fell to $1.17 trillion and the 24-hour trading volume stood at $1.12 billion.
Ether’s valuation also declined marginally due to profit booking. The largest altcoin was trading at $4,542.73 or 0.48 per cent lower than its value 24 hours ago. Its market capitalisation was $533.78 billion and the 24-hour trade volume was $1.17 billion.
Smaller altcoins like Cardano, XRP, Polkadot, Stellar, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, Uniswap and Litecoin also fell marginally on account of profit booking by investors.
Commenting on the momentum over the past 24 hours, Edul Patel, CEO and Co-founder of Mudrex, a global algorithm-based crypto investment platform, said, “The cryptocurrency market witnessed some interesting moves over the past 24 hours.”
“ The largest crypto by market capitalisation, Bitcoin, went through a minor profit booking. Most altcoins remained range- bound. A bullish momentum was observed across the exchange tokens such as BNB, CRO etc,” he added.
“The market would likely remain range-bound over the coming 24 hours.”
